Ellie started getting sick on Saturday night.
We thought it was just the common flu.
She was throwing up and having yucky diapers for 4 days straight.
We took her into the Doctor to find out if something else was wrong, besides the flu.
They asked if she had tears...I hadn't even noticed.
Well it turns out that in all the crying Ellie did, there were no tears.
They drew some blood and found out that Ellie was really dehydrated.
So Dr. Barrera sent us to McKay-Dee Hospital.
They hooked Ellie up to an IV, drew some more blood and did a few more tests.
They got the vomiting and diarrhea to stop, so they sent us home.
Ellie got spoiled before they had to put the IV in.
Ellie loves that huge teddy bear, she carries it every where.
It was so sad to hear her cry!
It took so long to get the IV in, and she didn't even have tears.
All the crying wore Ellie out.
Randy trying to get Ellie to eat something.
After a long day, he got her to eat a yogurt.
We went home thinking that everything was ok.
For another 4 days we it was off and on being sick.
We took her back in the day after Christmas to be checked.
They did more tests, blood and stool tests.
They found out that she had C-Diff and some of her levels were elevated.
They had us give her these pills for 10 days.
We tried everything to get her to take the pills.
(They told us to try chocolate or root-beer flavored things.)
I tried mashing it, dissolving it, and shoving it down her throat.
The only thing that worked was tricking her with Chocolate and shoving it down her throat.
She still gags every time I give her Chocolate Chips.
I hope she isn't scarred for life!
